Sustainable Garden

Nine individual garden beds grow a variety of vegetables for student consumption and use in cooking classes.  Excess produce is made available for families. Our school also boasts a fruit orchard which was established with trees being donated by families.  The trees are slowly maturing and we hope to pick fruit soon.

A berry garden is also being established and so far we have grown raspberries and strawberries, which are delicious during the summer months.

Our garden is maintained by parent volunteers with the help of willing students.

We are now also very lucky to have a number of wicking boxes loated around the school, to grow our produce in.  These wicking boxes not only teach us about healthy living, but all about sustainable gardening practices.
