Getting Involved

Research shows that involvement in schools by parents helps children achieve the best possible learning outcomes.  It is most effective when parents work directly with their child on learning activities in the home.  When parents read with their child, support their homework assignment activity, or assist using materials and instructions provided by teachers, they can be particularly effective.  Please talk with your child’s teacher about how you can help your child at home.img_7441

Parent Involvement in the School Community

  • Would you like to be actively involved in your child’s school?
  • Are you interested in being a classroom helper?
  • Maybe you would like to become a member of the School Council?
  • Do you have skills you would like to share with the students? Being a guest presenter is always an option.
  • Have you some spare time to help catalogue our library or just help sort books?
  • Do you have computer skills to help with the newsletter?
  • Do you like to garden – you can always help the children develop the vegetable garden, the orchard or the berry farm.
  • Can you spare some time for working bees or just to help around the school?

There are many options available for you to be involved in our school, these are but a few, please feel free to discuss these and other ideas with the Principal.
